DAY 1

[Read: 1 John 1:5–7]

📖 NIV: “God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.”

📖 MSG: “God is light, pure light; there’s not a trace of darkness in him. If we claim that we experience a shared life with him and continue to stumble around in the dark, we’re obviously lying through our teeth—we’re not living what we claim. But if we walk in the light, God himself being the light, we also experience a shared life with one another, as the sacrificed blood of Jesus, God’s Son, purges all our sin.”

[Think About it]

God is light. That means He’s holy. Pure. Not hiding anything. Not tricking you. Just fully good.

So when we say we know Him...but we’re still sneaking around, hiding stuff, living like He’s not involved—it doesn’t line up.

That’s not walking in light. That’s just acting.

But walking in the light doesn’t mean perfection. It means honesty. It means you’re not playing a double life. It means bringing your real self to a real God.

And guess what? When we do, Jesus purifies us. We don’t have to stay stuck in shame. He clears it out and pulls us into a better way.

[Ask Yourself]

Are there any areas in your life you keep in the dark—away from God or others?

What makes it hard to live in the light?

[Go Deeper]

📖 Ephesians 5:8–10 – You used to be darkness… now live as children of light.

📖 Psalm 139:23–24 – “Search me, God… see if there’s anything off.”

📖 James 5:16 – Confess to each other and pray so you can be healed.

[Reflection]

What’s one thing you need to bring into the light this week?

Do you need to get accountability? If yes, who are you going to be accountable to with your honesty?

How could that change your walk with God?

[Action]

Text or call someone you trust (a friend, small group leader, or mentor) and share one area where you need prayer or honesty. Walking in the light starts with one step.
