DAY 3

[Read: 1 John 2:3–6]

📖 NIV: “We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands… Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.”

📖 MSG: “Here’s how we can be sure we know God in the right way: Keep his commandments… Anyone who claims to be intimate with God ought to live the same kind of life Jesus lived.”

[Let’s Be Real...]

Anybody can say they love God.

But real love shows up in how you live.

If we know God, it’ll show. Not in perfection—but in direction. If your heart is chasing after Jesus, your habits will start shifting too. That’s what obedience is: living like Jesus, not because you have to earn God’s love—but because you already have it.

Obedience isn’t a strict checklist—it’s evidence. Evidence that something real is happening in you. You can’t separate love from action. Not in real relationships. Not with God.

[Think About It]

What does it look like to “live as Jesus did” in real life today?

Where do you feel tension between what God says and what the world says is okay?

[Go Deeper]

📖 John 14:15 – “If you love me, keep my commands.”

📖 James 1:22 – “Do not merely listen to the word... do what it says.”

📖 Luke 6:46 – “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?”

[Reflection]

Are there areas in your life where your actions aren’t lining up with what you say you believe?

What’s holding you back from obeying Jesus more fully?

[Action]

Pick one area where you’ve been making excuses instead of walking in obedience—maybe it’s how you talk to people, what you watch, how you treat your parents, or what you post.

Ask God to give you strength to shift that area toward Him this week.
